Mark Fahey Professional Biography:
Mark Fahey has over 12 years of experience in the information services field. He has both public and private sector
experience. Mr. Fahey has significant expertise in the development of information systems used for many purposes
including: business operations, project tracking, research and planning. He has a particular focus in the delivery
and development of geography information systems (GIS).
Mr. Fahey is the principal and founder of the Data Development Group (DDG), having successfully managed the growth
of this business since its official creation in August of 2001. Mr. Fahey has worked at various levels in the creation
of cadastral mapping systems for the several communities in the metro Boston area. This work entails the conversion of
assessing tax maps into vector based digital geography information systems.
Mark Fahey is also the founder, president and CEO of Real Estate Mapping, Inc. He serves on the Board of Directors
as the Chairman of this corporation. He oversees business development and administers data acquisition, data maintenance
and data development tasks. Mr. Fahey has considerable background working in real estate development and sales.
Mr. Fahey has worked as a technical consultant to the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) and for a short time
served as the acting Data Manager for the MAPC Regional Data Center. He also performed GIS development for the Harvard
School of Public Health, inventorying all open space and recreational facilities, within the metropolitan Boston area,
for a CDC research project.
Mr. Fahey worked as a Senior GIS Engineer at Trakus, Inc. Trakus is a high-tech company, which develops tracking systems
that monitor the speed and position of moving objects during athletic events. At Trakus, Mr. Fahey was responsible for GIS
development for all sporting events covered by Trakus technologies. Principally this included the development of 3D terrain
models created from aerial surveys of golf courses and auto-race tracks. These models were integrated with telemetry data
and used for virtual representations of sporting events.
Mr. Fahey worked as a Senior Systems Analyst at the City of Boston's Department of Neighborhood Development, where he
developed tracking systems and physical survey system procedures. Two notable projects included: the New Housing Tracking
System, which tracked all new housing units through all stages of development from planning to occupancy, and the City of
Boston Abandonment Survey, a physical survey of all abandoned properties within the City of Boston.
Mr. Fahey worked at the City of Boston’s Inspectional Services and Building Department (ISD) as their
GIS Development Manager. At ISD, Mr. Fahey developed and managed the City of Boston's Building and Zoning GIS.
Mark Fahey worked at the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA), Boston’s planning and economic development agency. At
the BRA, Mr. Fahey, performed the production and development of all data used in urban development and neighborhood
planning as well as the production for publication of all computer generated mapping products.
Mark Fahey has a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Geography and Earth Sciences from the University of Massachusetts
in Boston.

- CAD/GIS: AutoCAD, Intergraph MGE, MicroStation, GeoMedia, MapInfo and MapBasic, ESRI Arcview and ArcGIS, ESRI 3D Analyst, ESRI MapObjects, ESRI Avenue.

- Programming Experience: Visual Basic, Java, COM and Active X
- Database Development: Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Access, ODBC interfacing.
